In October of 2016, Race City Insurance merged with Piedmont Insurance, formerly located in Cornelius, NC. The two entities have consolidated in Mooresville, NC just across the street from the Lowes Family YMCA. Race City Insurance has been in the Mooresville area for decades and has deep roots in the community. While Piedmont has a more regional footprint throughout the Southeast, we want to stay connected to those roots. Our customers in the Lake Norman community have identified with Race City for generations- and so do we.
The connection goes beyond location. The former principal agent, Steve Baughman, retired in 2016, but his daughter- Karly Baughman, has developed a key role in the agency. She is a Personal Insurance Account Manager and oversee all Personal Insurance activity in the agency. Karly is a graduate of Mooresville High School. In addition her position in the agency, she volunteers at the Piedmont Animal Rescue and fosters a pack of furry friends regularly!
