The History of Transition Insurance
Founded in 2010 by Jason Brown, Transition Insurance Agency started in the Cotswold neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Jason graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Business Management in 1999. After working in the financial and credit sector for a time, Jason moved into insurance and began work as a representative for a local insurance carrier aggregator in 2009. During his time there, Jason recognized a gap in the aggregator model for agents early in their career. This led him to create Transition Insurance Agency in 2010, initially to help young agents learn and navigate the industry, but ultimately growing it into a sizable independent agency located in the heart of Charlotte.
Transition Insurance Merges with Piedmont Insurance
After 13 years serving Charlotte and the greater southeast region, Jason and his team joined forces with Piedmont Insurance.
Like Transition, Piedmont Insurance is a local family owned agency started in the Charlotte, NC metro area. The top shelf customer service provided by both Transition and Piedmont Insurance make this merger a great fit for our customers.

We’d like to welcome all the Transition customers to the Piedmont family! We’re happy to announce that all of the existing Transition staff is still here ready to provide you with the same exceptional service that you’ve come to expect.
Including the Transition office located in Charlotte, we have four offices around the Charlotte Metro area. Click here to see our locations. For those located in the Cotswold area, you’ll be able to continue doing business at the same location there. For others located in different areas around Charlotte, you now have the option to conduct the same business at any of our other local offices that may be in your area.
